We talked about the self-balancing car, the detailed report about the amazing robot: asimo, but today we are talking about a new era of the shipping industry, shipping orders using an octo-copter.

Our new invention for today is from Amazon, the most popular shopping website on the planet, it is an octo-copter robot used to deliver your orders in only 30 minutes, amazon called it Amazon air prime.

Amazon air prime is expected to be available and ready to start delivery in few years, as the Amazon CEO said, it is supposed to be able to deliver orders up to five pounds ( actually 86% of orders are less than that weight).

Amazon air prime can fly over 10 miles, so this can be very practical, and i think it will help the world economy a lot if they could prove that it will be totally safe, and will not be used in any thing like transporting bombs!

Hello new inventions readers,

If you don't have time to clean your apartment, if you are an IT-Geek, so we proudly introduce you the smart robot Roomba, one of the iRobot company's amazing inventions.

Roomba is a robot to clean your home, all you need to do is to press the clean button, then Roomba starts to move and clean all dirty spots.

What can Roomba do for me ?

Roomba can clean any vacuum, pets hair and reach all hard-to-reach places in your home.

How does Roomba work?

Roomba starts to move and using its built-in sensors it when it detects any vacuum, it turns the vacuum cleaner on and cleans it, it runs like that for pets hair as well, so if you have a pet and facing a problem of cleaning your home, Roomba is good for you.

Do i always have to turn it on manually ?

Of course you don't, Roomba comes with an amazing scheduling ability, you can set its timer and it will turn on on times you have specified before, but you have to keep in mind those times for two reasons :-

Roomba has a pin that can be totally filled, so you have to empty its pin so it can continue working.
Remember its scheduling times so you don't be scared by its sound when it turns on automatically!

The other amazing feature of Roomba is that it can charge itself, so there is no reason to stop your cleaning schedule program but having its pin full.

Fortunately Roomba has three versions so you can pick one of a bigger pin size the many you can choose one of them.

How can Roomba reach the hard-to-reach areas of my home?

Roomba is supported with a sensor that enables it to differentiate between solid things ( like walls or table legs ) and things like coach cover, so it will not be confused if it faced a coach cover and it will not consider it as an obstacle, it will easily go under it, a behavior that it will not try to do if it was a real obstacle like walls.

Will Roomba cause any damage to my furniture ?

Roomba moves very smoothly on your carpets and can't cause any damage to it, also Roomba only cleans, but it will not consider you wires as dust !

Do i have to move it manually after it finishes cleaning ?

No, after Roomba finishes cleaning, it automatically goes to its base, which Roomba uses to charge, that base it also used by Roomba when it runs out of battery to re-charge itself automatically, so you completely don't have to participate in this cleaning process!

Can Roomba clean a massive mess?

Actually Roomba is the best when it comes to an everyday cleaning, but when your home has a really massive mess, its better to clean it yourself.

Turn anything to a sensor.

Years ago i was taught that a computer consists of input and output devices, there were the main two input devices : Mice and Keyboards.

Other input devices were much interesting, like joysticks, cameras , etc.

Our new invention for this blog isn't really an invention by itself, it is an amazing tool enabling you make amazing inventions as you will see.

Our new invention is called Touch board, as the invention name implies, it is concerned with touch, literally you use it for a whole new input/output strategy.

Basically you use touch board to play a sound stored on its memory card by its built-in MP3 player by touching any of its 12 electrodes.

You can connect its 12 electrodes to any conductive material, and play sounds when you touch those materials, so you can use this new invention ( touch board ) to make some educational tool like this for your kids.

This tool says A apple when your kid touches letter A, you can also make some funny games for them, you can replace images of letters by images of bits and make a touch plays their names.

This new invention comes with another amazing feature, the distance sensor, using this you can trigger any event based on the event of something is moving towards it like the following picture.

Using this feature also makes you capable of making something like a completely virtual drums!

You can also draw your own conductors and use them as light switches for example.

To draw these virtual switches, use the invention's pen.

All of us knows Honda ( the famous car manufacturer ), not many people know that it also produce the legendary robot: Asimo.

Today we introduce you a full report about asimo robot, i promise that this blog will be very interesting, and you will watch the videos times and times again.

The following video presents some features in honda's asimo like:-

Walking like humans and in a balanced way.
It can notice obstacles and avoid it easily.
Can walk with you holding your hand, and when you leave his hand he leaves you!!
Can take things from you and deliver it to someone else.
When it reaches this one it gives him the tea and leave when he makes greetings to it !

As you may know that making a robot walk in a human-like and balanced way is a very difficult technical problem, but honda's engineers was able not to make Asimo walk in a balanced and human-like way only, but they make it able to climb the stairs easily!

Asimo can walk and it will not hit anyone walking!
Asimo can walk on uneven ground easily.
This new invention can recognize speech, not only when one person is talking, but it can recognize speech when many people are talking to it, and this is a real technical breakthrough!
Asimo can welcom visitors and take them inside to show them the way!
This new invention can talk in sign language, so it can talk with handicapped people in hospitals for example!
It can open bottles.
Asimo runs with a speed of 9 km/h.
It can walk with one leg - which is difficult for a human - and this is another amazing engineering breakthrough.
It can walk with one leg in a circular way, which is an impossible movement for a normal human!
It can kick the ball, and i think it will soon be able to play football well, who knows !

Why this new invention is called asimo ?

Honda chose this name which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility.
